• 1968 – graduated from Kyiv National Economy Institute named after D.S.Korotchenko, specialty "Finance and credit", qualification - economist.
• 1976 – defended candidate’s thesis on the topic "Profit and ways of improving its distribution (on the example of the knitwear industry of the Ukrainian SSR)" (specialty 08.00.05 "Economics, management organization and planning of the national economy") at the specialized Academic Council of the Institute of Economics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR.
• 1988 – received the rank of Senior Researcher assigned to the specialty 08.00.21 - economics, planning and management organization of industry and its branches.
• 2004 – received academic rank of Associate Professor, the attestation board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
• 2004 – defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic "Mechanism of financial support for the innovative development of the economy of Ukraine" (specialty 08.04.01 "Finance, money circulation and credit") at the specialized Academic Council of the Institute of Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
• 2004 the attestation board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine awarded Svitlana Vasylivna the academic rank of Professor of the Department of Public Finance.

Scientific and pedagogical activity:

• 1968-2000 - engineer, graduate student, researcher, senior researcher of the Economics of Science Department of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
• 2000-2005 - Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research at the National University of State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
• 2005-2010 - Professor of the Department of Financial Markets of the National University of State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
• 2005-2021 – the Head of the Department of Financial Markets of the National University of State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
• 2021 –until now - Professor of the Department of Financial Markets and Technologies of the State Tax University.
