Near Kyiv, in the Hero City of Irpin, State Tax University is located, which has a history of over 100 years. Its history began back in 1921. It has been building, developing, teaching and growing stronger.

In 1951, an academic building was built and put into operation, which became the hallmark of the university. It was equipped with modern teaching facilities. Scientific research institutes, a postgraduate school and a college were housed here. The building also housed the the rector's office, accounting department, human resources department, a conference hall for official delegations, an international department, a project office, a document management department, a student self-government hub, 6 educational laboratories, and the premises of the Financial Policy Research Institute.

In the night from the third to the fourth of March, 2022, the first russian shells hit the Central Building of the university. Meanwhile, peaceful people were sheltering in the basement under the building to avoid shelling – university staff, city residents, children.

During the constant shelling, another hit to the educational building caused a large-scale fire, which caused irreparable damage to the building.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to restore the destroyed Central Building of the University - it must be dismantled, so the decision was made to carefully dismantle the building and send the bricks as monuments of our heroic history to different parts of the world.

And when asked again: “How is your university after the shelling and bombing?”, the most eloquent answer is the brick of the destroyed building.
