Amazon Web Services Academy (hereinafter AWS Academy, https://aws.amazon.com/training/awsacademy/ ) is an educational project of one of the world's most powerful cloud service providers Amazon Web Services (headquarters: Seattle, (Washington, USA)), https://aws.amazon.com .
AWS Academy aims to bridge the gap between industry and academia by providing higher education teachers with a free, ready-to-teach cloud computing curriculum that prepares students for industry-recognized certifications and in-demand cloud careers. The AWS Academy curriculum helps teachers stay at the forefront of AWS Cloud innovations, and provide students with the skills they need to find employment in one of the fastest-growing industries.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering joined this educational program in 2024 .
Benefits of the University's participation in the programs : accredited teachers have access to AWS Academy content and the Learner Lab environment developed and supported by AWS Academy; content updates and updates reflecting updates to AWS technologies, services, and best practices; placement of the University in the AWS Academy participating institution directory on the AWS Academy website; access to AWS Academy logos and branding; access to certification practice questions and receipt of vouchers with a 100% discount for teachers approved by AWS Academy who are actively teaching or have taught the course.
AWS Academy educational resources are currently used to train bachelors and masters in the specialty "Computer Science" F3 (122) in the subjects "Big Data and Machine Learning", "Database Technologies and Big Data". A feature of the AWSA program is the ability to gain skills in designing cloud data processing pipelines using a wide range of AWS services, using data exploration tools in scientific work. Training on AWS Academy resources is provided by an accredited teacher, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and Communication, Redych O.V. AWS Academy resources are integrated into the educational process based on the inclusion of necessary topics and workshops in the work programs, their consideration by the department and subsequent approval by the Scientific and Methodological Council of the University.
In December 2025, applicants for the 4th year of bachelor's and 1st year of master's degrees who successfully completed their studies and passed the necessary tests received the first AWS Academy program certificates.

Below are the badges that teachers and students can receive, certifying completion of courses and obtaining certificates.

The first online meeting on joining the GPU to the AWS Academy program was attended by the program leaders Yuriy Kilochytskyi, Serhiy Avramenko, and teachers of the KITS department (November 2024).


Below are the congratulations of the graduates of the master's degree program (gr. KMI-25), who first received AWS Academy badges and certificates from the " Data Engineering Foundations " course, (December 2025).
