On March 27, 2026, the Department of Foreign Languages hosted an international guest lecture on the topic: “Scandinavian Literature and the Avant-Garde: Innovations and Prospects.”
The lecture was delivered by Professor Klaus Müller-Wille, Professor of Nordic Philology at the University of Zurich (Switzerland). The event was moderated by Viktor Kulchytskyi, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages.
The event was organized in a hybrid format, allowing students and faculty to participate both in person in the university classroom and online. This format made it possible to engage a wide audience and ensured accessibility for all interested participants.
During the lecture, Professor Müller-Wille presented contemporary approaches to the study of Scandinavian literature, with a particular focus on avant-garde trends and their prospects within the European cultural space. Special attention was given to the analysis of Selma Lagerlöf’s work “The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson with the Wild Geese.”
For students, participation in such events is extremely valuable, as it broadens academic horizons, enhances intercultural communication, and inspires further learning and research.
The Department of Foreign Languages expresses its sincere gratitude to Professor Klaus Müller-Wille for the insightful and inspiring lecture, his openness to dialogue, and his support of academic cooperation.
