Safety, labour protection and civil defence department
The Department of Safety, Labour Protection and Civil Protection in the field of life safety is the main structural unit of the University.
Currently, the department employs six employees with higher technical education, many years of experience in the field of labour protection and is guided by the legislation of Ukraine, labour protection regulations, collective agreement and labour protection acts in force within the University.
The Vice-Rector for Economics and Infrastructure Development is in charge of the operational management of the Occupational Health and Safety Department.
The main task of labour protection and civil defence is to minimise the possibility of injury or illness to employees while ensuring comfort and maximum labour productivity, and to develop and implement measures aimed at preventing and responding to emergencies.
The main goal of the department is to implement European norms, standards and values in occupational safety and health, create safe and healthy working conditions for participants in the educational process, and exercise the constitutional right of employees to protect their life and health.
Areas of activity of the department in addressing life safety issues
- Implementation of measures specified by the applicable laws and regulations;
- effective implementation of innovative measures as a way to create safe working conditions at the university;
- carrying out preventive and preventive work, providing methodological assistance to structural units in solving labour protection issues;
- improving the functioning of the labour protection management system;
- cooperation with structural units in the field of injury prevention;
- Developing a preventive occupational health and safety culture and reducing the likelihood of accidents in the production and non-production areas.
