Professional development of the department's teaching staff
General information
The Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration is a structural subdivision of the Faculty of Taxation, Accounting and Audit of the State Tax University, which provides educational, methodological and scientific activities in the specialities 051 Economics and 076 Entrepreneurship and Trade. The specifics of the department's work are related to the formation of a broad outlook on economic problems among higher education students, and the key goal is to train a new generation of economic personnel capable of creative professional activity and innovative management methods.
The Department was established on 1 September 1996. The initiators of the department were Doctor of Geography, Professor I.O. Horlenko and Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor H.P. Liashenko. After the reorganisation of the University in 2021, Doctor of Economics, Professor Larysa L. Lazebnyk became the acting Head of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Economic Security. Since 1 August 2022, the department has been headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor Liudmyla Sliusareva.
The Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration is a graduating department and trains first (bachelor's) level applicants in the specialties 051 Economics (educational and professional programme "Enterprise Economics") and 076 Entrepreneurship and Trade (educational and professional programme "Economics and Business Organisation"); second (master's) level applicants in the specialties 051 Economics (educational and professional programme "Business Process Management at an Enterprise") and 076 Entrepreneurship and Trade (educational and professional programme "E The department also prepares Doctors of Philosophy in the educational and scientific programme "Economics", speciality 051 Economics. In addition, in 2021, the department launched an educational and professional programme for the second (master's) level of higher education in the speciality 051 Economics ̶ "Economic Security".
The educational process is provided by highly qualified academic staff, including 5 doctors and 5 candidates of economic sciences. Among them are well-known experts whose scientific and practical interests are directly related to various aspects of economics, entrepreneurship and economic security, as well as young, talented scientists. The academic staff of the department teaches 79 regulatory and elective disciplines at the educational and research institutes and faculties of the State Tax University. The staff of the department carries out not only educational but also scientific work.
The Department is the organiser of the annual International Scientific and Practical Conference "Economic Prospects of Entrepreneurship". Over the past five years, the results of scientific research by the Department's faculty have been published in 247 scientific articles in professional economics journals (12 of which are included in international scientific and metric databases), 15 monographs, 11 textbooks and manuals. The scientific interests of the teachers of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Economic Security are united through the implementation of complex scientific research.
The staff of the department is working hard on the collective state budget research topic "Entrepreneurship in the era of global transformations: challenges and prospects for development" (state registration number 0119U000718). Currently, the staff of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Economic Security is working to introduce new forms and methods of teaching, update the curriculum, develop and implement computer technologies in teaching specialised disciplines, provide the educational process with the latest teaching aids, improve the organisation of practical training and independent work of higher education students.
The teaching staff of the Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration consists of 14 academic staff, including 5 Doctors of Sciences, 4 of whom have the academic title of Professor; 8 Candidates of Sciences, 7 of whom have the academic title of Associate Professor. The Department of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Administration trains specialists with higher education in relevant educational or scientific programmes at different levels of higher education: first (bachelor's), second (master's), third (educational and scientific) and scientific levels in the specialities 051 Economics and 076 Entrepreneurship and Trade.
