History:

The Department of Accounting was established in October 1996 under the leadership of Doctor of Economics, Professor Kaliuga E.V. (Zalevska E.V.). On September 1, 2000, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Academy of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, the Department of Audit and Economic Analysis was spun off from the Department of Accounting. The newly created department was headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor A.O. Chugayev.

Throughout its long history, the Department of Accounting (renamed in 2023 to the Department of Accounting and Consulting) was headed by:

• Zalevska E.V. (Kaliuga E.V.), Doctor of Economics, Professor (1996-1998 and 2002-2006)
• Storozhuk T.M., PhD in Economics, Associate Professor (1998-2002)
• Shara E.Y., PhD in Economics, Associate Professor (2006-2016);
• Osmyatchenko V.O., Doctor of Economics, Professor (2017-2019);
• Ilyin V.Y., Doctor of Economics, Professor (2019-2020);
• Kolisnyk O.P., PhD in Economics, Associate Professor (2020-2024).

The Department of Audit and Economic Analysis was headed by:

• Chugaiev A.O., Doctor of Economics, Professor (2000-2009);
• Lisovyi A.V., Doctor of Economics, Professor (2009-2024).

From January 1, 2025, as a result of the merger of the Department of Accounting and Consulting with the Department of Audit and Economic Analysis, the Department of Accounting and Audit was established, headed by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor A.V. Lisovyi.

The department aims to ensure the theoretical and practical training of graduates who meet modern professional standards and can fulfill the needs of employers.

The main tasks of the department include:

• organizing and conducting the educational process at an appropriate scientific and methodological level to train highly qualified specialists;
• conducting scientific research within the department’s profile, training academic and teaching staff, and enhancing their qualifications;
• implementing structural changes in the educational and research process in accordance with modern requirements in the educational environment;
• cooperating with stakeholders and higher education institutions to exchange experience;
• engaging in career guidance activities to help young people make informed choices about their future profession;
• promoting dual education, which enables students to combine theoretical learning with practical training.

These objectives are achieved through the integration of scientific research into the educational process, the application of practical experience, and the full and effective utilization of all elements of the learning process, leveraging modern information technologies.

The Department of Accounting and Audit provides training for higher education applicants at all levels in the specialty 071 “Accounting and Taxation”, offering the following programs:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax Audit and Business Analytics;
• Master's degree in Accounting and Taxation in Business Management and State Audit, Forensic Economic Expertise in Financial Investigations;
• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting and Taxation.
