Training laboratory of accounting and analytical support
General information
The Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Accounting and Analytical Support functions to fully support the scientific and educational trajectory of the Faculty of Taxation, Accounting and Audit and the Department of Accounting Technologies and Business Analytics. The Educational and Research Laboratory was established in 2007 and operated at the Department of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, headed by Svitlana Zaiets, PhD, Associate Professor. It facilitated the research work of undergraduate and postgraduate students on economic and mathematical modelling of socio-economic processes; development and implementation of innovative programmes, individual courses and modules for students of economic specialities based on new educational technologies using applications for processing large data sets, progressive forms of organising the educational process and active learning methods that meet the modern world level, etc.
The functioning of the laboratory allowed to successfully fulfil the tasks set for the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department:
- introduction of testing in the educational process in all disciplines of the department;
- organising consultations when students of economic specialities prepare a section of their master's theses on modelling and forecasting of economic phenomena;
- creation of virtual laboratories that allow a group of students to carry out experimental research in real time during classroom sessions;
- Improving students' research work;
- revision of curricula and teaching materials in accordance with the new bachelor's, specialist's and master's degree programmes;
- Preparation of new generation textbooks and teaching aids, which include a two-level system of training specialists in the courses assigned to the department;
- preparation and improvement of the existing control and measurement tools for the level of current and residual knowledge of students in the disciplines of the department;
- development and implementation of modern technical means in the educational process: "from chalk and rags" to electronic means of displaying educational material;
- updating student research, diploma and course design, etc.
