State Tax University celebrated International Student Day with a grand event that brought back one of the educational institution's brightest traditions after a several-year hiatus. The university's assembly hall transformed into an epicenter of student creativity, talent, and the unique energy of youth.
The festive celebration began with a welcoming speech by acting rector Dmytro Serebryansky, who emphasized the special role of students in the country's development: "Students have always been the environment that moves the country forward. Each of you comes here for new knowledge, competencies, and a personal mission. And it is this need for development that makes students the locomotive of the most important changes in Ukraine."
The celebration focused on two key events: the annual "Best Student of STU" competition and the long-awaited revival of "Freshman Debut" — a creative competition between faculties and institutes, first held in 2017.
Five faculty teams presented original compositions they had worked on for weeks. First-year students impressed the audience with the originality of their ideas, stage culture, and true artistry, demonstrating numbers of various genres — from musical performances to choreographic productions.
The professionalism of the competition was underscored by an exceptional jury. Real stars of Ukrainian culture and sports came to judge the debut:
- Mila Nitich — famous Ukrainian singer
- Olena Svitlytska — theater and film actress
- Volodymyr Dykyi — director of the student center of NUFT, excellent student of education of Ukraine
- Volodymyr Matviychuk — vice-president of KOFB, international master of sports, European and world boxing champion and medalist
- Vasyl Kanchii — conductor of the military orchestra of the 25th Brigade named after Prince Askold of the NGU
Based on the results of the competition, the main challenge cup was won by the Faculty of Finance and Digital Technologies team.
The highlight of the festive evening was the awards ceremony for the "Best Student of the State Tax University – 2025" competition. The main award went to Bohdan Kostrytsia, a student of the Faculty of Finance and Digital Technologies, a named scholarship holder of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Grand Prix winner of the All-Ukrainian multi-genre art competition "Rodyna" named after Nazariy Yaremchuk.

The names of the most outstanding students of 2025 were entered into the Golden Book of Honor of the university by decision of the Academic Council. Among them are Ivan Shvaika, a master's student at the Institute of Law, a scholarship holder of the President of Ukraine and a participant of the KMC "Suzirya", who combines studies with work at the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, as well as Nazar Hryhorenko - an activist of student self-government, leader of the volleyball team, who currently works at the Security Service of Ukraine. The third person entered into the Book was Bohdan Kostrytsia - the best student of the university this year.
Addressing the students, Dmytro Serebryanskyi emphasized the historical heritage of the institution: "Our university paved the way for people who today shape state and world policy. Once they also sat in these auditoriums and set goals for themselves. Their example reminds us: the future of the country is in your hands."
The head of the university also noted the importance of restoring university traditions: "We have restored university traditions and are working to ensure that every student feels the support of the community. You are studying in a place that sincerely believes in your potential."
The celebration was accompanied by vibrant performances by the drum majorette ensemble and the contemporary dance ensemble of the KMC "Suzirya", as well as a creative greeting from Kostiantyn Kononenko.
The State Tax University continues to educate not only professionals in their field, but also creative, active citizens who shape the future of Ukraine.
