On December 9, 2025, as part of the Jean Monnet Module «Fostering a sustainable interest in EU tax culture through educational, scientific, and communicative outreach activities targeting Ukrainian society» (Grant Agreement No. 101125984 – TIEU) and within the framework of the Innovation and Educational Hub of the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation «Accounting and Analytical Portal of Success» at the Scientific, Educational and Production Cluster «Accounting and Finance in the Management of Sustainable Development of the Kharkiv Region» of the State Biotechnological University, a guest online lecture was held on the topic «European approaches to tax policy: harmonisation and challenges». The lecture was given by Tetyana Tuchak, Associate Professor of the Department of Tax Administration at the State Tax University. The event was moderated by Professor Nataliia Kaschena.

The target audience was students of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education in the specialty D1 «Accounting and Taxation» within the framework of teaching the discipline «Taxes and Tax Policy».

During the lecture, issues related to the basic values, financing system, and management institutions of the EU were discussed, as well as the directions of harmonization of indirect taxes in EU member states, the peculiarities of direct taxation in European Union countries, and tax culture as a component of EU fiscal efficiency.

The lecture provided an excellent opportunity to discuss key issues and learn about practical examples of European experience in tax harmonization. Such events allow for a deeper understanding of the coordination and harmonization of tax policies among EU member states, as well as their impact on improving Ukraine's tax system.

We look forward to further fruitful cooperation and moving towards victory together!
