On 29 October 2025, as part of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module grant project «Fostering a sustainable interest in EU tax culture through educational, scientific and communication awareness-raising activities targeting Ukrainian society» (Grant Agreement No. 101125984 – TIEU), a guest lecture was given at the State University of Economics and Technology (Kryvyi Rih) by Tetyana Tuchak, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Tax Administration at the State Tax University, on the topic «EU tax policy as a vector for the development of Ukraine's foreign trade policy». The meeting was moderated by Iryna Yegorova, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics and Business Education.
The guest lecture brought together more than 70 interested higher education seekers from the educational programmes of the State University of Economics and Technology: «International Economic Relations», «International Information and Journalism», «Accounting and Taxation», «Finance and Banking», «Entrepreneurship and Trade». Students and lecturers from the Department of International Economics and Business at Cherkasy State Technological University also joined the discussion.
The lecture covered the following topics:
- the financial basis and values of the European Union;
 - current challenges of EU tax policy;
 - the impact of the green transition on taxation systems;
 - taxation models in EU countries;
 - key challenges for Ukraine within the framework of negotiations with the EU;
 - guidelines for the development of Ukraine-EU foreign trade in the new conditions.

The audience immersed themselves in the important area of EU tax policy, as it is precisely its principles and mechanisms that determine the pace of Ukraine's European integration, the development of international trade, the transparency of the business environment and the creation of a level playing field for Ukrainian companies in European markets. Future economists, financiers, journalists, and entrepreneurs have the opportunity to understand how common tax standards and «green» fiscal instruments are shaping the new architecture of Ukraine's economic relations with the EU.
We look forward to further cooperation!
