General information

The Department of Audit, State Financial Control and Analysis was created on the basis of the Department of Audit and Economic Analysis as a result of the reorganisation of the University of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine into the State Tax University, according to the new structure, which was put into effect on 04.12.2021. The Department of Audit and Economic Analysis was created on the basis of the Department of Accounting and Audit in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of the Academy of the State Tax Service of Ukraine dated 01.09.2000. In November 2023, in accordance with the new structure of the University (effective from 01.11.2023), the Department of Audit, State Control and Analysis was renamed the Department of Audit and Economic Analysis.

The Department's work is based on the principles of scientific rigour, self-development, humanism, democracy, continuity, personal responsibility and public discussion of issues within its competence.

The strategic goal of the department is to provide theoretical and practical training for graduates who meet modern professional standards and are able to meet the needs of employers.

The main tasks of the department are as follows:

• organisation and implementation of the educational process at the appropriate scientific and methodological levels to train highly qualified specialists;
• conducting scientific research in the field of the department, training of scientific and pedagogical staff and improvement of their qualifications;
• ensuring structural changes in the educational and research process in accordance with the requirements of the modern educational environment;
• cooperation with stakeholders and higher education institutions to share experience;
• career guidance to help young people choose their future profession;
• dual education, which makes it possible to combine theoretical and practical training of higher education students.

These tasks are fulfilled by integrating scientific research into the educational process, as well as the achievements of practice, full and effective application of all elements of this process based on the capabilities of modern information technologies.

The department is a graduate department, provides training in the speciality 071 "Accounting and Taxation" of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education.

The department provides professional training:

• applicants for the first (bachelor's) level of higher education in the Accounting, Tax Audit and Business Analytics programme;
• applicants for the second (master's) level of higher education in the programme "State Audit; Forensic Economic Expertise in Financial Investigations".

The study programmes provide an opportunity to train highly qualified specialists with an adequate base of theoretical and practical knowledge who are competitive in the modern labour market and can work in the State Tax Service of Ukraine, the State Audit Service of Ukraine, the Institute of Forensic Economic Expertise, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, audit firms, public and private sector enterprises as accountants, chief accountants, financial directors, expert accountants, state tax auditors, state inspectors, and state auditors,

The scientific and pedagogical potential of the department is developing dynamically. The department employs 13 people, including 4 professors and 9 associate professors.
