Training laboratory of financial and information technologies
The Financial and Information Technologies Training Laboratory was established in 2021 and is a structural unit of the Faculty of Finance and Digital Technologies.
The purpose of the laboratory is to provide high-quality training for higher education students, as well as to enable the introduction of innovative and scientific activities into the educational process.
The key tasks of the Financial and Information Technologies Training Laboratory are as follows:
- Preparation of educational, methodological and information support for teaching financial and analytical disciplines and modelling business processes at macro and micro levels in the speciality 072 "Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market";creation of a data bank for coursework, final qualification papers, and various types of internships;
- Improving the general and professional culture and activity of higher education students in the field of financial and analytical support for management decision-making and modelling of socio-economic processes;
- ensuring research work of higher education students on the problems of financial and analytical support of management decision-making and modelling of socio-economic processes in order to acquire practical skills in conducting research;
- organisation and support of research work of higher education students in the development and implementation of regional development programmes;ensuring that higher education students acquire the skills to adapt and modify existing scientific approaches and methods to specific situations of professional activity;
- ensuring that higher education students develop techniques and methods to solve ethical dilemmas based on the law, ethical principles and universal values; maintaining a test bank and using it to test the knowledge of higher education students;
- introduction of testing in the educational process in all disciplines of the departments;providing tools and instruments for developing technical specifications for designing information systems;
- use of software components and systems for financial modelling and forecasting;providing technical and organisational conditions for the production of the latest financial technologies in conducting analytical research in the field of finance, banking and insurance;
- the possibility of using demo and test rooms/accounts of financial market participants to acquire skills in the practical application of professional competencies in the speciality 072 "Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market";
- promoting the quality of training of higher education students by integrating the theory and practice of using digital technologies in financial markets and public finance;
- assessing the impact of dynamic changes in the economic system on the innovative development of financial and insurance activities and the development of new vectors of their development, early detection and timely response to risks that may arise in the field of financial and insurance activities;integration of scientific, practical and innovative activities of higher education students through cooperation with higher education institutions, scientific institutions, financial institutions, corporations and other stakeholder groups;
- implementation and use of practical management cases in the field of finance, banking and insurance in the educational process;development and implementation of innovative programmes, individual courses and modules of education and training of higher education students of economic specialities based on new educational technologies, progressive forms of organisation of the educational process and active teaching methods adequate to the modern world level;
- providing interested parties with expert advisory, information and analytical, methodological and other services on finance, banking and insurance;conducting basic and applied research in the established priority areas of research work of the University and other organisations;
- facilitating the organisation of course and diploma design, dissertation research of higher education students using business analysis and modelling methods to develop their professional competencies that ensure competitiveness in the modern labour market;providing individual work of research and teaching staff and higher education students, holding consultations by research and teaching staff.
In the laboratory, each workstation is equipped with a computer for use by higher education students of the system of educational and research software packages and tools for modelling and forecasting (such as Spending, Openbudget, IFI, Logica, and others using the Unified Web Portal for the Use of Public Funds), fintech products and IT technologies (MOODLE, YouControl, and others).
The auditorium of the Financial and Information Technology Training Laboratory has information and cognitive content, which is reflected in the stands on public finance management. The stands demonstrate the educational and scientific material that higher education students work on during seminars and practical classes held in this classroom.
The classroom is also equipped with a projector, which is used to demonstrate visuals during lectures, and higher education students use this technical tool to present their own presentation designs.
