General information
With the aim of raising the level of legal education among the population, creating appropriate conditions for citizens to acquire legal knowledge, and ensuring their constitutional right to know their rights and duties, on October 18, 2001, Presidential Decree No 992/2001 "On the National Program of Legal Education for the Population" was issued in Ukraine. Creating necessary conditions for the population to acquire legal knowledge and skills and ensuring citizens' access to sources of legal information, in 2002, the Primary Organization was established at the National Academy of the State Tax Service of Ukraine through the joint initiative of the faculty of law, the Kyiv regional organization of the Ukrainian Bar Association. It included faculty members and students of the law faculty. Based on the objectives of the Primary Organization of the Kyiv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Bar Association, in 2003, a "Legal Clinic" was established on its basis, and its work regulations were approved. In 2004 the Association of Legal Clinics was established in Ukraine, with the "Legal Clinic" of the Academy being one of its co-founders.
Currently the educational laboratory of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law "Legal Clinic" has its structure, consisting of student coordinator, distance department, editorial department, organizational department, and legal education department. The student coordinator regulates work between departments and maintains communication between students, faculty, and clients. The distance department provides legal consultations to the population via the Internet and telephone communication. The editorial department helps promptly and actively disseminate information on our social networks and in the media, while the organizational department organizes events conducted by the "Legal Clinic" ENSI. The legal education department is responsible for developing and conducting legal education events for the population, schoolchildren and students.
