 General information

History:

The Department of Accounting and Consulting was established as the Department of Accounting in October 1996 under the leadership of Kaliuha E.V. (Zalevska E.V.), Doctor of Economics, Professor. Kaliuha E.V. headed the department from 1996 to 1998 and from 2002 to 2006. In 1998-2002, the head of the Department of Accounting was Tetyana M. Storozhuk, PhD, Associate Professor. In 2004, according to the decision of the Academic Council, the department was divided into the Department of Accounting and the Department of Audit and Economic Analysis. From 2006 to 2016, the Department of Accounting was headed by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Shara E. In October 2015, by the decision of the Academic Council of the University, the Department of Accounting and Analytical Knowledge Bases was established on the basis of the Department of Accounting. From January 2017, the Department of Accounting was headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor V.O. Osmyatchenko, and from September 2019 to August 2020, Doctor of Economics, Professor V.Y. Ilyin. From December 2020 to the present, the Department is headed by Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor O.P. Kolisnyk.

The faculty is working on a comprehensive departmental research "Accounting and Analytical Support for the Management of Business Entities in the Context of Sustainable Development". The research is carried out in cooperation with professional organisations, enterprises in various sectors of the economy and leading scientific institutions.

The strategic goal of the department is to train highly qualified and competitive specialists by improving the educational process, research activities, teaching and methodological support, training scientists capable of solving problems that meet modern European and world requirements.

Educational programmes. The Department of Accounting and Consulting provides training for applicants for higher education of all levels in the specialty 071 "Accounting and Taxation": bachelors in the specialty "Accounting, Tax Audit and Business Analytics", masters in the specialty "Accounting and Taxation in Business Management", doctors of philosophy in the specialty "Accounting and Taxation".

Cooperation with the Federation of Professional Accountants and Auditors of Ukraine (FPAAU)

The FPAAU is a full member of the International Federation of Accountants, which develops professional ethics, international accounting and reporting standards for the public sector and educational programmes for professional accountants. In turn, the educational programmes and requirements for professional accountants are the basis of modern educational programmes in the training of accounting specialists in higher education institutions. That is why the department's faculty and students join the CAAU and adhere to high standards of professional ethics.

Cooperation with the international professional organisation CIMA

Since 2017, bachelor's and master's degree programmes have been accredited by the international professional organisation CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), which is an internationally recognised professional organisation for the training of specialists in management accounting, finance and strategic management. The CIMA Institute certifies management accounting professionals. The CIMA certificate provides its holder with recognition of professional qualifications and is a confirmation of a high level of knowledge and skills in the field of management accounting.
