The Department of Economics and Economic Security is a graduate and provides training for applicants for higher education of the first (bachelor) and second (master) level of the field of knowledge 29 "International Relations" in specialty 292 "International Economic Relations" and in specialty 051 "Economics" (Economic Security).

The purpose of the functioning and development of the department is to provide professional training to meet the needs of society and the labor market in qualified, competitive specialists with general cultural, professional and special competencies, the formation of knowledge among applicants on the protection of the interests of economic security objects at all levels from the negative impact of the external environment and internal threats; solving specialized practical issues with complexity and uncertainty of conditions in the field of economic security.

Scientists of the department are actively involved in the implementation of research works, examination of dissertations, the implementation of national and international projects, the formation of a new model for the development of higher education in Ukraine.

The department has a scientific circle that allows applicants to expand their knowledge in selected scientific areas, participate in competitions of scientific papers, olympiads, scientific conferences of university, regional, national and international levels, quests.

The main focus of the educational program 051 "Economics" (Economic Security) is to provide in-depth special training of modern specialists, the formation of professional competencies and skills in the field of economic security, which makes it possible to deepen the acquisition of soft and hard-skills.

The uniqueness of training specialists in international economic relations - the acquisition of professional organizational and analytical skills in solving practical problems within the work of enterprises (organizations, institutions); analysis and application in practice of information on the state, trends and prospects of international economic relations and orientation on the allocation of the security component, overcoming crisis phenomena and control over the shadow component of the world economy.

The department has close ties with representatives of national, international and transnational companies, the constituent documents of which provide for the implementation of foreign economic activity, state bodies of Ukraine, acting as customers for the preparation of applicants for higher education.
