On 10 November 2025, Professor of the Department of Accounting and Auditing of the Faculty of Tax Affairs, Accounting and Auditing of the State Tax University, Doctor of Economics, Senior Research Fellow Volodymyr Metelytsia spoke as a speaker at the international workshop DigiAgrar_UA, which took place at the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO, Halle, Germany).
The workshop was held within the framework of the project “Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development: German-Ukrainian Perspectives for Future Agricultural and Food Systems in Europe” (DigiAgrar_UA), aimed at studying the digital transformation of agriculture in Ukraine and Germany, identifying factors that stimulate or hinder the implementation of digital innovations, as well as strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of the agricultural sector in conditions of war and post-war recovery.
The project covers Ukraine, Germany, and the European Union, and aims to strengthen international dialogue between science, business, and policy-making, develop joint research solutions, and disseminate practical recommendations on the digitalisation of the agricultural sector. A central element of the project was a three-day workshop in Germany (10–12 November 2025) with the participation of Ukrainian and German scholars, experts, and representatives of the agricultural business, as well as a visit to the AGRITECHNICA exhibition in Hanover.
Within Session I “Sustainability Assessment in Agriculture”, Volodymyr Metelytsia presented the results of joint Ukrainian-German scientific work in the format of the presentation “Sustainability Reporting in the Agricultural Sector of Ukraine.” In particular, the Sustainability Reporting Platform developed at IAMO in cooperation with the State Tax University was presented. The Platform is designed to support Ukrainian agricultural enterprises in measuring and managing sustainability indicators, conducting environmental and social analysis, and preparing reporting in accordance with the European standards CSRD, ESRS, and FSDN.
In his presentation, V. Metelytsia highlighted the current needs of the agricultural sector of Ukraine under conditions of military instability, the results of research on the readiness of enterprises for digitalisation, as well as the key barriers to the implementation of ESG reporting. Separate emphasis was placed on the importance of digital tools in increasing transparency, accountability, and investment attractiveness of agricultural enterprises, which is critically important for the green and sustainable recovery of Ukraine.
The DigiAgrar_UA event became an important platform for discussing joint Ukrainian-German perspectives on the development of digital technologies in agriculture, contributed to strengthening academic partnership, and initiated new opportunities for cooperation between institutions of both countries.
The State Tax University expresses its gratitude to IAMO and international partners for supporting Ukrainian researchers and creating an environment for the exchange of knowledge essential for the future development of Ukraine’s agricultural and food system.
