The Department of Economics and Economic Security (until December 2023 - international economic relations) provides training for students of higher education at the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) level in the field of knowledge 29 «International Relations» in the specialty 292 «International Economic Relations».
The department was created on September 1, 2014 as the department of international economics of the National University of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, the head of the department was appointed Doctor of Economics, professor Yanina Vasylivna Belinska, who headed it until November 2021. In December 2021, the department was reorganized into the Department of International Economic Relations of the State Tax University, which was headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor Nadiya Volodymyrivna Stezhko, and from September 2023 - Doctor of Economics, Professor Yanina Vasylivna Belinska.
The strategic goal of the functioning and development of the department is to improve the educational process in the field of quality education, as well as to provide professional training to meet the needs of society and the labor market in qualified, competitive specialists who possess general cultural, professional and special competencies.
Scientists of the department take an active part in the implementation of the NDR, the examination of dissertation works, the implementation of national and international projects, the formation of a new model of the development of higher education in Ukraine.
The staff of the department successfully develops cooperation with international companies and foreign universities.
The department has a scientific circle, work that allows students to expand their knowledge in selected scientific areas, participate in scientific work competitions, Olympiads, scientific conferences at the university, regional, national and international levels, and quests.
The main tasks of the department are:
- Training of highly qualified specialists who have in-depth theoretical knowledge of the main principles and trends of the development of the world economy and the place of Ukraine's economy in it, possess modern economic thinking and applied skills necessary for solving problems in solving any economic issues;
- Study of the system of functioning and development of socio-economic systems, forms of economic relations and mechanisms of their implementation, modeling, forecasting and regulation of socio-economic processes, motivation and behavior of subjects of economic relations at the micro-, meso-, macro- and mega levels.
- Solving complex specialized problems and practical problematic issues in the economic sphere, which are characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions, which involves the application of theories and methods of economic science;
- Involvement in the educational process and conducting scientific research of highly qualified specialists of the economic system, educational and scientific institutions, other institutions and organizations of Ukraine and foreign countries;
- Organization and conduct of scientific and research works, scientific and practical activities, creation (formation) of scientific schools, including with the participation of institutions and organizations of Ukraine, foreign and international organizations.
- Conducting fundamental and applied scientific research according to the established priority areas of research work, including contractual topics, publishing their results and implementing them into practical activities.
