General information
The Department of Customs and Commodity Research of the State Tax University was established on 1 December 2021 as a result of merging two departments in the University of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine: the Department of Commodity Research and Technogenic and Environmental Safety (founded in 1998) and the Department of Customs (established in 2016).
The Department of Customs and Commodity Research is a structural subdivision of the Educational and Research Institute of Economic Security and Customs, which provides educational, methodological, scientific, and other services within its fields of study, such as 073 "Management" (professionally oriented bachelor and master programme "Management of Customs Affairs") and 076 "Entrepreneurship and Trade" (professionally oriented bachelor programme "Commodity Research and Expertise in Customs").
The particular nature of the department's work is related to shaping student's broad outlook on customs and foreign economic activities, and the key goal is to train highly qualified economic personnel of a new generation capable of creative professional activity and innovative business methods not only in the national but also in foreign markets.
The academic staff of the department conduct research on the initiative topic titled "Conceptual Foundations for Reforming Ukraine's Customs System under the Conditions of Intensified Integration Processes." To foster higher education students' scientific and creative potential and develop their research skills, the department hosts two study groups: "Customs Officer" and "Innovation."
