Review of MSCA4Ukraine
As part of the European Union's response to the Russian Federation's invasion of Ukraine, a new special scholarship scheme "MSCA4Ukraine" was created to support displaced scientists and researchers from Ukraine.
The MSCA4Ukraine grant program allows such researchers to continue their work in academic and non-academic organizations in EU member states and Horizon Europe associated countries, while maintaining ties with the research and innovation communities in Ukraine.
This program also contributes to the strengthening of Ukrainian universities in the research sector, their cooperation and exchange with international scientific communities.
The MSCA4Ukraine program of the European Commission is implemented by a consortium that includes: Scholars at Risk Europe at the University of Maynooth, Ireland (project coordinator), the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the European University Association, as well as the French national program PAUSE, organized by the Collège de France and a global network of Scholars at Risk participating as Associate Partners.
In February 2023, 124 researchers in 21 host countries received scholarships.
