- In 1993, at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Philosophical Sciences on the topic: "Features of the Formation of National Self-Consciousness of the Individual (Methodological Aspect)" Diploma KN No. 002602.
- In 1995, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Scientific Research and Methodological Center of the SPS of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Humanitarian Training and Law. Certificate of the State Academic Center of Ukraine No. 003112
- In 2006, at the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Shevchenko defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy on the topic: "War in the History of Civilizations". By the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine dated March 17, 2007, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Diploma DD No. 005691.
- In 2011, by the decision of the Attestation Board of the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine, he was awarded the academic title of Professor of the Department of National Security. Diploma 12 PR No. 007223.
