On 26 September 2025, the State Tax University hosted a scientific and practical round table discussion entitled «Current Issues in the Development of Tax Culture in EU Countries: Lessons for Ukraine». The event was organised as part of the EU Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module project «Formation of a sustainable interest in the EU tax culture through the introduction of educational, scientific and communicative awareness-raising activities, which will orient Ukrainian society toward». Project number: 101125984 — TIEU — ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH
The event was attended by officials from state authorities and government bodies (the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the State Tax Service of Ukraine), public figures, representatives of non-governmental organisations in the field of taxation, business representatives, practising specialists and experts in the field of Ukrainian and European taxation, academics and university students.

The participants of the round table discussed the current state of tax culture in the EU member states and Ukraine, as well as the possibilities of implementing best European practices into the national system. Particular attention was paid to building partnership relations between taxpayers and tax authorities.
Based on the outcomes of the round table, a collection of abstracts of the participants’ reports will be published.
The round table became a platform for exchanging ideas and practices that will contribute to fostering a conscious attitude toward tax compliance and strengthening citizens’ trust in public authorities in Ukraine, following the European model.
