On November 5, 2025, master’s students of the educational program “Regional Governance and Local Self-Government” of the department of management and public administration joined a guest lecture titled “Methodological foundations for constructing the scientific research framework.” The lecture was delivered by Dr. Marina Drushliak, doctor of pedagogical sciences and professor at Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko.

During the session, participants gained a deeper understanding of what forms the foundation of scientific research, how its logic is structured, and how its internal components are interrelated. The lecturer thoroughly explained the key elements of the research framework: from determining the relevance and research problem to formulating the object, subject, aim, and research tasks. Special attention was given to methods of scientific inquiry, approaches to substantiating research novelty, and presenting the practical significance of results.

The lecture was especially valuable for students, as they are currently actively working on their qualification (master’s) papers, learning research methods, and developing coherent academic argumentation. The opportunity to receive direct guidance from an experienced scholar provided not only theoretical insights but also practical orientations for the implementation of their research projects.

Participants also received recommendations on analyzing academic sources, avoiding common mistakes in defining the research subject, and presenting findings. An essential part of the meeting was the opportunity to engage in open discussion and ask clarifying questions. The guest lecture strengthened the methodological competence of the students and increased their confidence in conducting independent research, becoming a significant step toward high-quality completion of their qualification works.

We express our sincere gratitude to the Department of Higher and Applied Mathematics of the State Tax University for the initiative in organizing this lecture. The event was made possible thanks to the organizational support of Oksana Nemirovska and Natalia Martynovych, who facilitated the participation of students and ensured effective cooperation between the departments.
