On December 8, 2023, in celebration of the 102nd anniversary of the institution's founding and the 2nd anniversary of the establishment of the State Tax University, the university hosted the 14th International Scientific and Practical Conference on pressing issues of fiscal policy transformation in the context of European integration. The primary goal of the event was to foster effective communication between practitioners and academics in the fields of public finance, taxation, and customs, as well as to collectively define priority areas for the socio-economic development of Ukrainian society amidst European integration and martial law.

International partners of the event included the Academy of Economics and Pedagogy (Czech Republic), the Scientific Center of Innovative Research (Estonia), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (Georgia), the Institute for International Taxation e.V. (Germany), WSHIU Academy of Applied Sciences (Poland), Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania), Moldova State University (Moldova), University of Zielona Gora (Poland), and WSG University (Poland).

The conference was held in a hybrid format — on-site at the University's Conference Complex and online via the Zoom platform. The moderator was Zakhar Varnalii, Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Scientist of Ukraine, Professor of the Department of Finance at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Doctor of Economics, and Professor.

The Organizing Committee received over 180 submissions with abstracts of scientific reports from participants representing both domestic and international higher education institutions (Germany, Poland, Estonia, Moldova, Georgia, and others), as well as scientific and governmental institutions, and international organizations.

The event began with the solemn performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and a moment of silence to honor the fallen Heroes who gave their lives in the fight for Ukraine's independence and its people. Zakhar Stepanovych also expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for enabling the continuation of academic and communicative events and for steadfastly holding the educational and scientific front for our victory.

The Acting Rector of the State Tax University, Dmytro Serebryanskyi, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor, and Senior Researcher, delivered a welcome address. He highlighted the importance of the conference’s theme and thanked all participants for their involvement.

"Despite the fact that the State Tax University suffered the greatest destruction among higher education institutions in the Kyiv region, we strive to revive our pre-war traditions, particularly by restoring scientific discourse, contributing to the development of new ideas and solutions in shaping and implementing fiscal policy, adopting the best practices, technologies, and innovations from European countries in the field of public finance, and preparing highly qualified professionals in line with Ukraine's strategic path towards European integration," stated Dmytro Mykolaiovych, wishing the participants fruitful discussions and a peaceful day.
