April 22, 2026 became a true Professional Development Day for the faculty of the Department of Foreign Languages — насыщений, meaningful, and inspiring, bringing together educators from leading universities and language centers across Ukraine.
Within the framework of the interuniversity scientific and methodological event “Extralinguistic and Linguistic Issues in Teaching and Learning Foreign Languages,” the academic dialogue united representatives of Ukrainian State University named after Mykhailo Drahomanov, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Kherson State University, State Tax University, as well as language partners — Cambridge Club, SARGOI Language School, and International Language Centre.
The event became a platform for active exchange of experience, ideas, and modern approaches to foreign language teaching.
- The first session featured engaging presentations by faculty and students, addressing актуальні issues of modern language pedagogy, intercultural communication, and the role of language in a rapidly changing global context.
- During the round table “Teaching as Cultural Mediation,” held in collaboration with SARGOI Language School, participants explored teaching as a process of cultural mediation. Anastasiya Rybak shared her international experience in teacher training and emphasized the importance of intercultural competence.
- At the seminar “Cambridge English Qualifications: The Global Standard,” organized with the support of Cambridge Club, Maryna Ovechko presented contemporary approaches to language assessment and highlighted the role of international certifications in professional development.
- The event concluded with a practical workshop “AI for Teachers: Friend or Foe?” delivered in partnership with International Language Centre. Diana Vaselenko explored the opportunities of integrating artificial intelligence into education, outlining both its benefits and challenges for modern educators.
The event stood out for its interactive format, lively discussions, and high level of engagement. It became not only a space for sharing experience but also a source of new ideas, inspiration, and professional growth.
Such initiatives once again prove that a modern teacher is a lifelong learner, an innovator, and a mediator between cultures.
