Started classes of the optional course: “Tax culture of the EU countries”
On 12.10.2024, the State Tax University started classes of the optional course: “Tax culture of the EU countries”, which are held for the second year in a row within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ Project “Building sustainable interest in the EU tax culture through the introduction of educational, scientific and communication outreach activities focused on Ukrainian society” 101125984 - TIEU - ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH (Grant Agreement No. 101125984 -TIEU).
The aim of the course is to study the experience of tax culture and democratisation of relations between taxpayers and tax authorities in the EU countries. Mastering the knowledge within this course will allow students to better understand the motives of taxpayers behaviour in EU countries, develop new competencies and generate new knowledge among students. The course is focused on new economic thinking and has a comprehensive interdisciplinary character.
Lectures and seminars are delivered by Iryna Prokopenko and Olga Ivanyshyna, lecturers of the Tax Administration Department. The classes are attended by first-year (bachelor's) students of the Faculty of Taxation, Accounting and Audit, the Faculty of Finance and Digital Technologies, and the Educational and Research Institute of Law.
At the end of the class, the participants discussed the impact of tax culture on the functioning of the tax system of any country and the need to improve the level of tax culture in Ukraine and improve relations with tax authorities, taking into account the experience of EU countries.
