On 22.05.2024, a guest lecture on ‘European approaches to taxation and tax culture of EU countries’ was held for local government officials of IV-VII categories of positions - heads and specialists of financial departments of the district state administration, village, town and city councils of Zhytomyr region. The event was held as part of the Jean Monnet Module project: ‘Building a Sustainable Interest in the EU Tax Culture through the Implementation of Educational, Scientific and Communication Outreach Activities Focused on Ukrainian Society’ of the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme: Jean Monnet", 101125984 - TIEU - ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH

The speakers of the guest lecture were Olha Ivanyshyna, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Tax Administration of the Faculty of Taxation, Accounting and Audit of the State Tax University, project leader of the project, and Iryna Prokopenko, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Tax Administration of the Faculty of Taxation, Accounting and Audit of the State Tax University, project manager.

The speakers introduced the audience to the best traditions of taxation and the methods and techniques used in EU countries to establish mutually beneficial partnerships between tax authorities and taxpayers.

At the end of the class, the students took part in a discussion and noted that such lectures are extremely important for improving tax literacy and tax culture for both local government officials and all taxpayers in Ukraine.

We thank all the students who will use the knowledge gained in their activities, which will contribute to the formation of a high tax culture, improvement of tax literacy and tax discipline in Ukraine according to the European model in civil society.
