As part of the third year of the Project, a specialised short-term professional development programme entitled ‘European Approaches to Taxation and Tax Culture in EU Countries’* was held from 28 April to 5 May 2026 at the Institute for Professional Development and Postgraduate Education of the State Tax University
The programme was attended by 654 representatives of state authorities, including the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the State Tax Service of Ukraine, the Customs Service of Ukraine and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine
This training was implemented as part of the Jean Monnet Module Project: ‘Fostering a sustainable interest in EU tax culture through the introduction of educational, scientific and communicative awareness-raising activities aimed at Ukrainian society’ under the European Union’s ‘Erasmus+: Jean Monnet’, 101125984 – TIEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH.
The programme content was designed to achieve the Project’s objectives and covered the following key areas:
- the European Union’s common tax policy;
- current trends in direct and indirect taxation in EU countries;
- approaches to fostering a tax culture in EU Member States;
- tools for developing partnership-based cooperation between tax authorities and taxpayers.
The training was delivered by the Project’s lecturers: Iryna Prokopenko (Project Manager, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor in the Department of Tax Administration, Faculty of Taxation, Accounting and Auditing) and Olha Ivanyishyna (Project Leader, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Tax Administration)
Following completion of the programme, all 654 participants successfully passed the final assessment, confirming the achievement of the planned learning outcomes, and received certificates of professional development.
The implementation of this initiative helped to raise awareness among representatives of state bodies regarding European approaches to taxation and tax culture, as well as laying the groundwork for the further implementation of relevant practices in Ukraine.
