On October 14, 2026, the Scientific Library of the State Tax University hosted a meeting with the writer Olha Vorobyova, author of the poetry collection «Chronicle of War».
This event was a logical continuation of a series of cultural and educational initiatives organized by the institution. As a reminder, this is not the first time the STU Scientific Library has served as a platform for reflecting on wartime events through literature. Previously, book presentations were held here:
- Presentation of Olga Vorobiova's Books «Unconquered Irpin» and «Voices of Memory. Bucha – Hero City» at the STU Scientific Library
- Living Memory That Forges a Nation: Presentation of the «Living Stories of War» Book Project
which brought readers together around the preservation of national memory.
The event was opened by Kostiantyn Kukushkin, coordinator of the «Alive Stories of War» project, who introduced the writer to the audience and talked about her creative journey. During his speech, he presented a list of publications released between 2022 and 2026 as part of this large-scale project.
The author worked on the collection «Chronicle of War» starting in 2022. It includes 226 poems reflecting wartime experiences, human fates, the pain of loss, strength of spirit, and unyielding faith in Ukraine. Among the works are poems dedicated to Irpin – a city whose history is forever written in the annals of the Russo-Ukrainian War. The book features illustrations by Volodymyr Rebrov and Vladyslav Zadvorskyi.
Of particular note is the fact that copies of «Chronicle of War» have already been presented to the Ambassadors of China and Canada to Ukraine. This demonstrates how Ukrainian poetic expression reaches beyond our national borders, conveying the truth about the war, the fates of Ukrainians, and the resilience of our people to the international community.
Olha Vorobyova's poetry becomes yet another voice for Ukraine, telling the world about what has been endured, preserving the memory of tragic events, and reminding us of the price of freedom and peace. A special recognition of Olha Stepanivna's creative and civic contribution was her award of the badge «For Merits to Kyiv Region».
The gathering began with a special musical moment – the song «Minute of Silence», based on a poem by Olha Vorobyova with music by Oleksandr Solohub. Its rendition set a tone for deep reflection on the past and honoring the memory of those whose lives were taken by the war.
Throughout the event, the author recited poems from her new collection and shared her creative vision and emotions embodied in verse. Kostiantyn Kukushkin also joined the reading by presenting the poem «Bohemia of War», dedicated to infantrymen – those who fight daily on the front lines for Ukraine's freedom and independence.
The meeting continued musically with another song, «Virtuoso» (lyrics by O. Vorobyova, music by O. Solohub). The attendees listened attentively as the author's words came to life through music. Such musical moments once again demonstrated that poetry can extend beyond the pages of a book to touch human hearts.
An important participant in the meeting was Olha Feshchenko, founder of the foundation and author of the project «Alive Stories of War». She thanked the writer for her creativity and read one of the poems from the new collection, joining a heartfelt dialogue on the power of the literary word.
Participants discussed the vital mission of modern literature – to document the tragedies of war, preserve the truth about past experiences, and pass this memory down to future generations. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore the book collection «Alive Stories of War», where each volume contains documented facts, events, tragedies, and personal experiences.

Anastasiia Andriichuk, Head of the Student Parliament and 2nd-year student at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law, shared her impressions of the meeting, thanking the author for books that carry contemporary history into the future.
«Chronicle of War» is not just a poetry collection. It is a document of an era written in the language of emotion, pain, courage, and hope.
An important part of the event was the tradition of gifting books:
- Olha Vorobyova presented two copies of her publications to the STU Scientific Library, leaving behind a piece of her creative world.
- Olha Feshchenko (journalist, writer) donated an English-language edition of «Alive Stories of War» to the library, dedicated to her fallen son, Andrii. Behind this book lies a personal tragedy, maternal love, and a commitment to keeping the memory of her loved one alive while sharing Ukrainians' stories with the world.

The event was moderated by Halyna Leonidivna Pavlenko (Head of Department at the Scientific Library) and Svitlana Yaroslavivna Tsymbaliuk (Director of the Scientific Library). They actively engaged with the guests, read the author's poetry, and expressed sincere gratitude for her artistic contribution, civic stance, and essential mission of preserving memory.
We invite you to watch the video recording of the event to experience its warm and sincere atmosphere, hear poems recited by the author and guests, and listen to the musical compositions performed during the gathering: Presentation of the book «Chronicle of War»: poetry that preserves memory
The Scientific Library of the State Tax University sincerely thanks Olha Stepanivna Vorobyova, Kostiantyn Mykolaiovych Kukushkin, and Olha Petrivna Feshchenko for a meaningful meeting, candid conversations, and the opportunity to connect with poetic words.

A book preserves memory. Poetry gives voice to what has been lived through. And the library helps this memory live on and pass to future generations.
We remember. We read. We preserve the truth.
