On 27 October 2026, another meeting of the English Speaking Club STU took place, dedicated to the exciting topic of “Travelling.”

The meeting brought together students from the following academic groups: FLB-24-1, FLB-25-1, FB-26-1, FB-26-2, OPSB-26-1, OBP-26-1 and OB-26-1.

The club’s speakers, Jamal and Regula Gutzwiller-Malakut, shared their travel experiences, told fascinating stories from their lives and offered practical recommendations for visiting different countries. Their stories inspired lively discussions, an exchange of impressions and plenty of questions.

The topic “Travelling” provided a wonderful opportunity for students to practise their English, discuss different aspects of travelling, share personal experiences and learn more about the cultures and traditions of other nations.

The English Speaking Club STU meetings are not only an opportunity to develop students’ English communication skills but also a chance to broaden their horizons, gain valuable cultural knowledge, express their opinions and learn to listen to others.

The participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the volunteer speakers for their openness, kindness, active civic engagement and support for the people of Ukraine. Such meetings demonstrate how language can bring people, cultures and countries together.

What topics have we explored at previous meetings?

  1. Getting Acquainted: Introducing Yourself
  2. Listening to Music: Jazz and Blues
  3. Listening to Music: Ukrainian Songs
  4. Travelling

Our next meeting will focus on “Movies”! Participants will have another opportunity to discuss cinema, their favourite films and their movie preferences in English.

The club meets online every Tuesday.
