The State Tax University was visited by Ma Shengkun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine. The visit was an important step for the development of the university's international cooperation and the expansion of educational dialogue between Ukraine and China.

During the meeting, topical issues of cooperation in the field of education, science, and academic exchanges were discussed. In particular, they talked about establishing partnerships between the State Tax University and relevant universities in China, implementing double degree programs, joint scientific research, and academic exchanges of students and faculty.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador's Advisor Zhou Meiliang and Education Representative Zhang Zhenguo. From the Ukrainian side, the guests were received by Acting Rector of the State Tax University Dmytro Serebrianskyi, Vice-Rector for Research Vasyl Lutsyk, and Head of the International Relations Department Fedir Bilotskyi.

During the meeting, Dmytro Serebrianskyi presented the history and current development of the university, and spoke about the educational training areas, particularly in the fields of tax and customs affairs.

Particular attention was paid to the potential for cooperation in training specialists working in the field of international trade and foreign economic activity. "It would be important to establish partnerships with Chinese universities that have a similar training profile. Today, economic ties between Ukraine and China require highly qualified specialists in the field of customs and tax policy. Our university has significant experience in training such specialists," Dmytro Serebrianskyi noted.

During the visit, the head of the university gave the guests a tour of the university. The delegation was shown one of the university buildings that was damaged during the hostilities, and he spoke about the international architectural competition for its restoration project, as well as about the reconstruction of the university's infrastructure. The guests also inspected the renovated sports halls, which were restored thanks to the support of university graduates.

The delegation visited classrooms dedicated to the study of China, as well as the university library with a thematic book exhibition introducing students to the culture, history, and economy of the PRC.

A special part of the program was a traditional tea ceremony. It was conducted by Mykhailo Rosokhatyi, a lecturer at the STU Student Sports Center. Participants joined this cultural tradition, which combines the philosophy, aesthetics, and symbolism of tea consumption.

Chinese Ambassador Ma Shengkun noted the deep cultural significance of this ritual. According to him, tea for Chinese culture is much more than a beverage. "For us, tea is a cultural code, a way of communication. It is a tradition that helps people find harmony and communicate," the diplomat said.

During the conversation, the parties also discussed prospects for the development of academic mobility and the possibility of implementing joint educational, sports, and cultural projects. Representatives of the Chinese side expressed their readiness to facilitate the establishment of contacts with relevant universities in China.

The Ambassador emphasized that universities in both countries have significant opportunities for developing partnerships. In particular, Chinese universities actively implement academic exchange programs, joint educational programs, and scientific research with foreign partners.

At the end of the meeting, Dmytro Serebrianskyi thanked the diplomatic delegation for the visit and expressed hope for the further development of partnership relations. "It is important for us to develop international cooperation and create new opportunities for students and faculty. We hope that this visit will be the beginning of new joint educational and scientific projects between our countries," he concluded.
