On January 30, 2025, in the online zoom room on the platform of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law of the State Tax University, a lecture by Professor Brian Sites of the Georgia State University College of Law (USA)was held on the topic: "The Impact of technological and digital evolution on the accusation in the criminal process"
The lecture was moderated by Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of the State Tax University Maksym Maksimentsev.
The morning, because it was two in the morning in the state of Georgia, was spent in the spirit of professional discussion and exchange of views on the extremely interesting topic of the application of forensic technologies, the use of digital and modern technologies in the formation of evidence of the accusation in criminal and civil proceedings. The key issues of the discussion were the prospects and limits of the direct participation of artificial intelligence and machines as witnesses and the prosecution, as this creates broad legal, forensic, moral and technical issues in the judicial process and reform of the justice system in the United States and the world in general.
Professor Brian Sites' lecture aroused undisguised interest in the audience, as evidenced by the students' questions, in particular regarding the prospects and reservations of using artificial intelligence in the prosecution. We hope that this meeting will be the beginning of fruitful cooperation, as the parties expressed interest in continuing the practice of conducting open guest online lectures on topical topics in law.
