On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 16:15, in the auditorium C168, along with the on-line broadcasting in Google meet, an open paired lecture on the topic: "Corporate crime and white-collar crime: elements of crime" was held. The lecturers were Maksym Maksimentsev, Doctor of Law, Professor at the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of the State Tax University and Gregory Ashley, Professor of Law, Rikkyo University (Tokyo, Japan).
The lecture was aimed at the audience of bachelor's and master's students in order to form among students the necessary knowledge about the elements of a criminal offense (body of a crime or corpus delicti), characterize actus reus and mens rea, apply this knowledge in the analysis of evidence in criminal proceedings, spread over examples of elements of crime and criminological characteristics of corporate and white-collar crimes in the study of cases and practical application of the acquired knowledge and skills, sharing international experience.
The lecture was also attended by the academic staff and faculty, who are interested in learning this format of presentation of the material and the application of the methodology of case studies - real examples of the application of criminal liability to white-collar crimes and corporate crimes and measures of a criminal penalties against incorporated bodies.
The lecture was concluded by professional discussion and exchange of views and experience. The participants expressed the interest to continue the valuable and innovative academic exchange of lectures and reports between the faculty and lecturers of the State Tax University and the academic staff and faculty of foreign higher education institutions.
