History

The Scientific Society of Students has been actively working at the State Tax University for more than 15 years to organise students' research work, unlock their potential and engage them in self-development. The history of the Scientific Society of Students dates back to 1997, when a voluntary independent association of students was founded on the basis of the then Ukrainian Institute of Finance and Economics, who actively participated in the research work of the departments and successfully combined it with their studies. At the time of its creation, the number of members of the scientific society was 150. Today, there are more than 1,500 students who successfully combine study and research. 

Structure

Everyone has heard from friends, relatives or acquaintances at least once in their lives that student years are the best time. Everyone remembers not only the memories of lectures, seminars, exams and sleepless nights in preparation, but also unforgettable moments of active recreation and self-realisation. It is scientific work that opens up the horizons for the fulfilment of desires, promotes the development of young people and new acquaintances.

In order to organise students' research work, the University has a Scientific Society of Students, a voluntary independent association of students established on the basis of the University of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine who are actively involved in the research work of the University.

The purpose of the SSS is to comprehensively promote the scientific, inventive, and research activities of students, as well as to create conditions for the qualitative disclosure of their scientific and creative potential.

In its activities, the SSCC sets itself a number of tasks, the main ones being:

• intensification of the work of primary S&CU centres (scientific clubs, thematic circles, problem groups);
• assistance in training highly qualified specialists at the University;
• Identification and support of talented researchers among students who are not members of the SSC;
• methodological assistance in the organisation of student research work at the Institute/Faculty under the coordination of the Vice-Rector for Research of the University;
• preparation of reports on the research work of students of the University;
• control over the implementation of students' research work at the Institute/Faculty;
• promoting the development and support of inter-university scientific cooperation both at the national and international levels;
• information and consulting activities.

The activities of the SSC are based on the following principles:

• the supremacy of scientific creativity, competition and competitiveness;
• organic combination of training and research work;
• voluntariness and equality of all members, self-governance and publicity in the work;
• openness and transparency of organisational activities.
