Guest Lecture Series by Lars Micker on European Law: European Tax Law
Prof. Dr. Lars Micker, LL.M., BScEc
Prof. Dr. Lars Micker studied law and economics at the University of Münster, Germany. After working as a research assistant at the Chair of German and European Public Law (Prof. Dr. Hans D. Jarass) and receiving his doctorate under Prof. Dr. Dieter Birk, Professor Micker initially worked in the Düsseldorf office of the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as well as in a New York based tax consulting firm.
Since 2013, Mr. Micker has been Professor of General and Special Tax Law at the University of Finance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. He is also Director of the Institute for International Tax Law (www.ifitax.com). He is the author and editor of numerous commentaries, handbooks and essays on tax related subjects and a lecturer at lecture events designed for lawyers, tax advisors and members of public institutions. His research and teaching focus is on International Tax Law and the taxation of corporations and partnerships.
Since the conclusion of the cooperation agreement between the STU and the University of Finance, Professor Micker has been chairman of the expert commission for the further development of this cooperation between the universities. At the STU, Professor Micker has lectured on European law and European tax law.
