Tomasz Szapiro
Tomasz Szapiro is the former Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics (2012-2016).
He holds a master's degree in physics, a doctorate in mathematics, a habilitation and a professorship in economics. He gained experience as a lecturer at the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota. His current research focuses on methods for analysing and supporting decision-making in individual and group processes and on the economics of education. He is currently a member of the Board of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, a former member of the Board of the National Science Centre and the National Council for Science and Higher Education, and is actively involved in international cooperation. He has also gained experience in the supervisory boards of ING Bank Śląski and Aviva Investors Poland (as Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee). He is the author of numerous scientific articles and participates in international research projects.
