On 14 February 2026, the State Tax University launched an optional third-year course entitled «Taxation and Common Tax Policy of the EU» as part of the Jean Monnet Module «Fostering a sustainable interest in EU tax culture through educational, scientific and communication activities aimed at Ukrainian society» (Grant Agreement No. 101125984 – TIEU). 

Professor Volodymyr Andrushchenko and Associate Professor of the Department of Tax Administration Tetiana Tuchak conducted classes for second-level (master's) full-time students of educational and professional programmes: «Management Accounting and Business Analytics», «International Taxation», «City and Regional Economics», «National Financial Security», «Public Finance Management», and «Public Management of Financial Activities of the State and Local Self-Government Bodies».

The grant project team presented the goals and objectives of the elective course, starting with Topic 1: «The EU as a fiscally and socially united union of states». During the class, they discussed:

  • The stages of the European Union's founding, its goals and values.
  • The customs and tax union formed within the EU.
  • Revenues of the common (union) budget of the EU. 

The project aims to introduce European tax standards and a culture of tax compliance in Ukraine. Course participants will gain knowledge that will help reform the domestic tax system and adapt it to EU requirements as part of the country's European integration process.
