On December 5, 2025, on the eve of the Armed Forces Day of Ukraine, the State Tax University held a traditional meeting with the families of students, alumni, and staff members who gave their lives defending Ukraine. The gathering took place in an atmosphere of sincere conversation and mutual support. Families shared stories of their loved ones, recalled cherished moments, and spoke about loss and the strength that helps them carry on. These stories reflect a shared experience and a collective pain that unites us all.

Acting Rector of the STU, Dmytro Serebryanskyi, expressed his gratitude to the families for the heroic deeds of their loved ones and presented the publication "Guardians of Light: Names Etched in the Memory of the State Tax University". Each family personally received a copy of the book.

This book is more than just a collection of memories – it is a living tribute to the people who loved, dreamed, studied, created, and worked alongside us. It honors those whose journeys were cut short by war, but whose presence lives on in the hearts of their families, friends, brothers-in-arms, and our entire university community.

This publication was created to preserve their names, tell their living history to future generations, and remind ourselves that freedom comes at a price – a price seen in the faces of our Heroes. Memory, too, is a weapon.

The Scientific Library has also added a copy of this book to its collection.
