On December 18, 2025, teachers and students of the Department of Higher and Applied Mathematics took part in the next meeting of the scientific seminar of the International Association of Researchers in Mathematics Didactics, which was held in an online format.
Viktor Tymofiyovych Lysitsa, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Higher Mathematics and Informatics of the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, delivered a report on the topic "Alexey Pogorelov and modern methods of teaching mathematics: myth or reality?".
During the seminar, the role of Alexey Pogorelov's scientific heritage in the context of modern approaches to teaching mathematics was considered, the relevance of classical methodological ideas for today was discussed, as well as the possibilities of their rethinking in the context of updating the content of mathematical education.
Participation in such events contributes to the professional development of teachers, the formation of students' scientific interests, and the deepening of the connection between the theory of mathematics and the methodology of its teaching.
