On 24 April 2024, the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Financial Policy: Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Legal Science" was held at the State Tax University. The event was organised by the staff of the Educational and Research Institute of Law. The conference was held in a mixed format.
Acting Rector of the University Dmytro Serebriianskyi welcomed the participants. He noted the importance of the event, which is taking place despite the war and all the difficulties of the time, and stressed the significance of the conference topic. Also, on behalf of the university administration, he wished the participants meaningful presentations, interesting discussions and fruitful cooperation for a common positive result. Vasyl Topchiy, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Law of the State Tax University, also addressed the conference. Among the invited guests of the conference: Fabrizio Fiori - Consultant to the Vice President of the Commission on Foreign Affairs of the Chamber of the Italian Parliament; Olena Mykhailova - Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Administration and Management, Director of the Department of International Financial Projects of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine; Kateryna Ryzhenkova - Director of the Transfer Pricing Department of the State Tax Service of Ukraine; Yuliia Moroz - PhD in Law, Acting Head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kirovohrad Region, Head of the Alumni Association.
About 150 participants took part in the conference: scientists, experts from around the world, partner universities, representatives of public authorities, business, higher education students and other stakeholders.
Honourable guests, including Mykola Pogoretskyi, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, expressed their greetings and opinions on the event online, calling our university a leading educational institution that supports the development of science in difficult times, despite the war, and thanked the university staff for their work.
The conference was followed by presentations and discussions of the main thematic areas of the conference. It is gratifying to realise that the Tax University has become a powerful platform for scientific discussion, bringing together the international academic community, representatives of state and local authorities, progressive youth and scientists from different countries around the current issues of financial policy theory and practice, conceptual approaches to the formation of state financial policy: national and foreign experience; criminal law support for the protection of financial policy; financial and legal aspects of ensuring the fulfilment of obligations in the private law; theoretical and legal support for the implementation of financial policy.
After the speeches and discussions, the participants and guests of the conference expressed their gratitude to the organisers of the event for the high level of planning and holding the event and noted that despite the destruction suffered by the State Tax University and the difficulties associated with the war, life and the educational process in the educational institution continues, science is developing and occupies an important place and noted that they would look forward to new meetings within the walls of our university.
