On May 16, the State Tax University hosted a scientific and practical round table "Experience of sustainable development of EU cities and regions: ways of implementation in Ukraine"

Participants of the event: representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Irpin City Council, as well as leading experts from Poland and Great Britain expressed their views on the prospects for the development of cities and regions of Ukraine in the conditions of European integration.  The following also joined the work of the round table: Higher School of Trade and Services / Academy of Applied Sciences (Republic of Poland);  University College London (Great Britain);  National University "Kyiv-Mohylianska Academy" (Ukraine). 

At the opening of the event, Oleksandra Smirnova, vice-rector for scientific work of DPU, dean of the Faculty of Taxation, Accounting and Audit of STU Volodymyr Kraievskyi spoke.  The speakers congratulated all those present and emphasized the importance of integrating foreign experience into domestic practice, and wished the participants interesting discussions.  Foreign partners also joined in the greeting: Rector of the Higher School of Trade and Services / Academy of Applied Sciences Grzegorz Konechny and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the Higher School of Trade and Services / Academy of Applied Sciences of the Republic of Poland Paulina Kolisnichenko, who noted the importance and relevance of the event and wished for a fruitful discussion.

Reports and discussions continued, in particular: Mykhalyna Skoryk-Shkarivska, deputy of the Irpin City Council, founder of the NGO "Institute of Sustainable Development of Communities" (Bucha, 2023);  Mariia Kurinna, human rights lawyer, diplomat, researcher at University College London;  Oleksandr Palyukh, Head of the Department of Regulatory Support of the State Budget of the Department of Regulatory Support of the Budget Process of the State Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine;  Iryna Bila, associate professor of the Department of Economic Theory, Doctor of Economics, associate professor, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy National University.  Mariia Skoryk, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Sustainable Development took part in the discussion from the State University of Ukraine;  Olena Dzhadalla, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Policy and Sustainable Development.

The roundtable summarised the results of the implementation of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project № 101085764 "EU Sustainable Development Policy: Experience for Ukrainian Cities and Regions in the Context of Decentralisation". 

During the discussions, the participants focused on the following issues: European experience in ensuring sustainable development: challenges and prospects for Ukraine; current challenges and trends in regional development in Ukraine; prospects for post-war development of Ukrainian cities and regions

The event was organised within the framework of the ERASMUS+ project "Jean Monnet Modules "EU Sustainable Development Policy: Experience for Ukrainian Cities and Regions in the Context of Decentralisation".
