Powers of the Student Ombudsman:
- To consider proposals from higher education students on how to improve the protection of their rights and interests at the University.
- To inform and advise students on issues within its competence.
- To raise issues within its competence for discussion before the JMC.
- Coordinate the work of the Student Ombudsman's Office, hold regular meetings and establish cooperation with similar bodies in higher education institutions of Ukraine.
- To develop a strategy for the protection of the rights of higher education students at the university-wide and local levels.
The Student Ombudsman is a person who is entrusted with the duties and functions of independent and objective monitoring of the observance of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of higher education students. The Ombudsman also helps to resolve various issues related to student life.
What does our student ombudsman do?
- Complaints and consultations: It accepts your complaints, listens to your concerns and provides advice on student rights and responsibilities.
- Impartial consideration: The Ombudsman considers all sides of an issue in an objective and impartial manner, ensuring a fair process for resolving conflicts.
- Protection of students' rights: It helps to restore violated student rights and facilitates conflict resolution in a favourable manner.
- Working with the university administration: The Ombudsman works with university administrators to improve the student experience and ensure compliance with standards.
