Academic Staff:
The department consists of 22 Academic Staff members, including: 1 Doctor of Science (Associate Professor), 13 Ph.D. holders (including 1 Professor and 10 Associate Professors), 4 Senior Lecturers (1 of whom is an Associate Professor), and 4 Lecturers.
Professional Training:
The department offers professional training in the specialization of Physical Education and Sports (017). Our graduates are prepared to excel as physical education and sports specialists, physical trainers for diverse populations, meeting the demands of both modern society and the labor market.
Educational Prospects:
The department equips graduates with a broad range of knowledge, both theoretical and practical, preparing them for successful careers in diverse fields:
Professional athletes' activities, as well as judges, timekeepers, instructors, coaches, sports teachers, and other experts involved in athlete training.
Participation in physical fitness and recreational activities.
Educational and training centers, sports camps preparing athletes for competitions in various sports.
Children's sports schools, schools of higher sportsmanship, and Olympic reserve schools;
Preschool and school educational institutions.
Sports-related services, etc.
The Academic Staff focuses on:
- Conducting practical sessions and lecture courses on physical education with students across the university faculties.
- Active participation of the Academic Staff in national and international scientific-practical conferences, seminars, round tables, etc.
The main tasks of the Department are:
- Involving the educational institutions of the University in physical education and sports activities to achieve harmonious development and strengthening of physical and spiritual health, as well as preparation for future professions.
- Focusing on the training of sports coaches, providing students with systematic theoretical knowledge in the field of physical culture and sports, with an in-depth study of the theory and methodology of training processes in their chosen sport, as well as health-recreation physical activity technologies.
Engaging leaders and professionals working in the professional and youth sports system (leading federation coaches, sports managers, directors of youth sports schools, Olympic training centers, etc.) in teaching activities.
Educational and Methodological Work:
The Academic Staff of the Department is actively involved in ensuring the educational process through:
- Working educational programs for disciplines.
- Lecture outlines.
- Methodological recommendations for completing qualification and coursework.
- Internship programs.
- Methodological guidelines for independent and scientific work of students.
Our Academic Staff integrates theory with hands-on experience in diverse fields relevant to physical education and sports careers. This practical training prepares students:
- for work in organizations, institutions, and facilities dedicated to physical culture and sports.
- to organize and conduct recreational and health activities to ensure mass, sports and recreational physical culture aimed at improving the general condition of the human body.
Our Sports Achievements:
The available material and technical base at the University has allowed the formation of a powerful sports school based on the Department of Recreation Technologies and Sports Rehabilitation and the Student Sports Center. This sports school prepares athletes of international level, including the winner of the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, the silver medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, world and European champions, Ukrainian champions, winners, and medalists of international competitions in freestyle wrestling, combat sambo, judo, boxing, horticulture, ITF Taekwondo, football, futsal, powerlifting, military-sports pentathlon, kettlebell sport, arm wrestling, table tennis, rugby, karate-kyokushin, basketball, volleyball, sports tourism, chess, checkers, etc. After completing their studies, these athletes join various departments and structures of the physical culture and sports sphere.
Since its establishment in 2019, the educational program "Physical Culture and Sports" has trained and continues to train:
- Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine – 1 person (Yakiv Khammo)
- International Master of Sports of Ukraine – 4 persons: Lysenko A., Poyedynok I., Yushchenko V. (admitted in 2021), Vodolazsky S. (admitted in 2019), Serhiyenko M. (admitted in 2022).
- Master of Sports of Ukraine – 10 persons.
- Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine – 18 persons.
Our pride: Yakiv Khammo – participant of the XXXII Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 (5th place). Bronze medalist of the World Junior Championships in Fort Lauderdale (2014); gold medalist of the Junior European Championships in Bucharest (2014); bronze medalist at the inaugural European Games in Baku (2015); bronze medalist of the World Championships in Astana (2015); gold medal at the Grand Slam Judo tournament in Baku (2016); victory in the European Youth Championships in Tel Aviv (2016); gold at the Grand Prix season finale in The Hague (2018) and silver at the Grand Slam Judo tournament in Abu Dhabi (2019).
Anna Lysenko – participant of the XXXII Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 (9th place). Silver medalist of the women's European Championship (Bulgaria-2019). 5th place in the European Women's Boxing Championship (Madrid-2019). Multiple champion and medalist of the Ukrainian Championship.
